Educare Springfield

Educare Springfield

Educare, one of the nation’s most effective early childhood school networks, is an evidence-based early education model designed to ensure financially disadvantaged young children are provided with comprehensive early education and, through that, an equitable chance for success in life.

Educare schools are creating and sharing more effective early childhood education and care practices to benefit children and families across the country through a research-driven model that continuously incorporates its outcomes into its practices and by personalized education programs for students and their families.

The first Educare was founded in Chicago twenty years ago and today the Educare Learning Network features 25 schools across the United States supported by more than 100 partner organizations who have joined to help parents and children succeed together.

Following the closure of a local early education center in 2014, the Irene E. & George A. Davis Foundation, Holyoke Chicopee Springfield Head Start, Inc. and Springfield College partnered together to make Educare Springfield a reality for the children and families of Springfield.

With the support and guidance of several of our local and national partners, Educare Springfield opened its doors on January 2, 2020. Educare Springfield will serve more than 140 children annually, assist their families through a Two-Generation support model and will become a landmark early education and research center for the region.
